Authors: Equinet Working Group on Gender Equality
This Equinet publication examines the current powers and the work of Equality Bodies on pay discrimination, shares good practices and assesses the potential impacts and opportunities of the proposed Pay Transparency Directive, proposed by the European Commission in March 2021.
Depending on the national context, Equality Bodies have different roles in the fight against pay discrimination. The proposed legislation will harmonize this very fragmented landscape and will grant new powers to Equality Bodies with regards to implementing the principle of equal pay in the EU.
