Chiara started her journey at Equinet as a Communication Trainee in June 2023, quickly advancing to Communication Officer. After becoming increasingly involved in the organization’s policy work related to LGBTIQ+ equality, she is now serving as Equinet’s Communication & Policy Officer. In this role, Chiara is responsible for leading communication efforts to raise awareness about Equinet, its Members, and equality in Europe through publications, activities, and events. She also manages Equinet’s LGBTIQ+ equality portfolio.

Chiara holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Trento and a Master’s degree in Human Rights Studies from Lund University, with additional focus on Gender and Queer Studies. Her Master’s thesis explored the political debate surrounding Italy’s legislative proposal C. 569 (“Zan Law”) addressing violence and discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability. Before joining Equinet, Chiara gained experience in the human rights civil society sector, working and volunteering with organizations like Amnesty International Sweden, smaller NGOs, and Pride events.

Fun fact: Chiara is obsessed with the color blue and has been dyeing her hair turquoise for several years.
