Equinet is currently seeking a consultant to draft a report evaluating and summarising the learnings from our pilot project to test indicators that measure standards for equality bodies. Consultants experienced in in the field of EU equal treatment law are invited to submit their proposals in accordance with the terms of reference to support our input on the planned legislation on standards for equality bodies.
Equinet’s Project on Standards for Equality Bodies has been a driver for engagement with the EC on proposed EU-level legislation strengthening the role and independence of equality bodies. As part of this project, two sets of indicators measuring standards for equality bodies were developed, on mandates and independence. In 2021, these indicators were tested for adequacy and usability by five equality bodies (from Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany and Romania).
