This capacity building training session for staff members of equality bodies aimed to support equality body staff in tackling equal pay cases, covering the main tools and opening up a space for equality body staff to discuss the main challenges. The Czech Public Defender of Rights, the Equinet Working Group on Gender Equality, and the Equinet Secretariat hosted the training on equal pay in Brno on 31 August and 1 September.
The training aimed to support equality body staff in tackling equal pay cases, covering the main tools and opening up a space for equality body staff to discuss the main challenges. The training built on the Equinet Handbook: How to Build a Case on Equal Pay (2016), drafted by the Equinet Working Group on Gender Equality. The handbook gives practical advice on equal pay cases, drawing on the experience of equality body experts, and the training modules follow the chapters of the handbook.
The training was supported by an academic expert as well as equality body staff members, who were able to share experiences with 20 national equality body staff members who are interested in developing their skills further in tackling equal pay cases.
