Marta is currently a Policy Officer at Equinet, temporarily in charge of the gender equality dossier and other strategic equality policy issues.
She has obtained a Master’s Degree in International Relations and European Studies from the University of Florence, Italy, with a dissertation on the conceptualization of women’s rights within the universalism v. relativism debate in International Human Rights Law, as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma earned from Smith College, Massachusetts, USA, where she has conducted interdisciplinary research with a focus on Women and Gender Studies.
Marta has previously worked at the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), where she has been engaged, among other things, in a project related to the interconnection between violent extremism and gender-based discrimination.
She has also previously assisted the Policy and Legal Team of Equinet, thereby covering several files, including gender equality as well as the equality-related implications of climate change and climate policies.
