The General Assembly of Equinet Members will meet in Brussels on 23 October for the 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM), and bring together heads and senior management representatives from all Equinet member national equality bodies.
Besides deciding on governance and membership issues, equality bodies will have the opportunity to engage with relevant stakeholders and partners of Equinet to discuss key policy and legislative developments as regards equality and non-discrimination at European and international levels. Specifically, this year’s AGM will address important issues on the equality agenda in an open plenary format, including:
- Good Leadership driving equality in Europe
- EU priorities on equality and non-discrimination and the contribution of equality bodies
- Equality implications of digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence
Additionally, small group discussions will take place on:
- Artificial Intelligence and Equality Bodies
- Standards for Equality Bodies
- Complaints Data Collection
These small group discussions will allow Equinet members to elaborate on these topics in a more in-depth manner, with an added value of possible synergies and development of unified strategies and approaches to address common concerns.
Board Elections

Pursuant to the decision of the Equinet AGM in 2009 and considering Equinet budgetary limitations, the costs relating to member representatives’ participation in the Equinet AGM will not be covered from the Equinet budget. Equinet Member organisations are expected to cover the cost of their travel and accommodation for the Equinet AGM. In case your organisation is not in the position to cover the costs of your participation, it is possible to send a formal request for financial support to the Equinet Secretariat by contacting Yannick Godin (Yannick.Godin@archive.equineteurope.org). Equinet will review your request and will do its utmost, within the constraints of its available budget, to try and give a positive answer to it.***Accommodation
Equinet has reserved and paid rooms at Bedford Hotel & Congress Centre, participants will have to reimburse later.***Travel arrangements
Travel arrangements should be made by participants themselves. Please note that the Equinet AGM 2019 will be followed by the Conference on Sexual Harassment on 24 October 2019. In case you have registered for both the AGM and the conference, please inform the Secretariat, so that Equinet can arrange and cover costs of your travel and accommodation. In the meantime, please take into account the following conditions::- the room for the 22 October is reserved and payed, but will be at your own expense
- the travel costs to the AGM will be covered by Equinet for those who attend the conference
- the hotel for those attending the seminar is booked and paid by Equinet from the 23 to 24 October
