Equinet is currently seeking trainers to build the capacity of communication staff of equality bodies on optimising web content, social media positioning, as well as measurement and evaluation.
Equality bodies are independent public organisations contributing to an awareness of rights and a societal valuing of equality as well as assisting victims of discrimination and monitoring and reporting on discrimination issues.
To support this work, each organisation’s digital presence should be strong, clear and accessible, with information that is easy to find. This should serve as a valuable resource for all audiences, most importantly citizens, non-governmental organizations, state and local institutions and legal practitioners.
Digital media should therefore be an organisation’s first thought, not an afterthought. A well-designed and strategic online presence will make it easier for victims of discrimination to find the information that they need from the equality body, as well as helping the equality body to disseminate their work (recommendations, educational materials etc.) to the relevant audiences more effectively.
Equinet’s Working Group on Communication Strategies and Practices gathers communication experts from equality bodies, and those working with digital communication would be the participants of this training, besides the staff from Equinet Secretariat.
This 2-day training, due to be held at the end of June, aims to help staff of equality bodies learn how to elevate their online presence, by focusing on:
We would expect the trainer(s) to prepare the agenda, in consultation with the Equinet Secretariat and representatives of the Working Group and deliver the training (in person or hybrid-format to be expected). Finally, we would like you to participate in an short online meeting about 6 months after the training, in order to give feedback to colleagues who share their results (experience, lessons learned, success), or answer any concrete questions they may have.
To successfully carry out these tasks, the selected trainer(s) is/are expected to demonstrate:
Equinet has a budget of 5,000 euros to deliver the training & written materials. In addition, Equinet would cover any travel and accommodation costs, as well as local travel and subsistence expenses.
